Safety Tips – Weapon Defense

THE ESSENTIALS

Responses to an armed assault:

  1. If possible, get out of there.  Why should you leave if you have training?  Even a combat veteran can have bad days and a bad day, in this case, could be fatal.
  2. If they are brandishing a knife or club, and you can’t get away, use your environment.  Throw things at them and/or grab a weapon of your own.  For example, a chair in your hands can be a great equalizer.
  3. Third, if there are no other options, you’ll have to fight them unarmed.

Response three is the last thing you want to have to do but, if it comes to that, our training will give you the skills to: avoid damage, diminish the attacker and gain control of the weapon.  Try a free class
